Great communication is an essential part of my method of teaching piano. Toward that end I have created this blog for the students and families both present and future to come and learn. I will be posting weekly new ideas, thoughts, accomplishments, bragging rights, philosophies and of course, music to be shared with everyone to further enhance the learning experience and to provide depth in the understanding of music and the process. I encourage others to share their thoughts and ideas as well, and often.
This blog is an experiment. To be honest, I don't know all the why's this is a good idea, but my gut is telling me to do it and see what happens, and that it will be positive. So here we go.
Communication requires more than one person. In a collaboration, many ideas are presented and many perspectives are given. We want this. We want all persons to expound and pontificate. This will be an enriching experience for all who put forth effort toward this blog.
As a teacher, I am constantly trying new things and I leave myself open to changes and new thoughts. I have the ability to adapt quickly to each student and bring out their best qualities. This is an experiment to gain a broader understanding on my part about what my students need to succeed. In such an environment, everyone who takes a part will by sheer consequence gain a deeper understanding and learn more as well.
I look forward to all your input and I want it as often as you see fit, from both students and families of students. How does what I post make you feel? What does it make you think of? Are there practical applications you have thought of that I haven't? I want to cover a broad array of topics that I believe will help every student achieve. From health to memorization, to methods and experiences and fresh new ideas, I want them all. All of the above and more that you offer will help me become a better teacher.
Plus, I can be pretty goofy at times, so this should be FUN!!
I always will be running my studio with an emphasis on positivity, belief in yourself and enjoyment. I love things that make me happy. This video is one of those things. If this was my kid I'd make her play me this song a thousand times a day. :)
If nothing else, you'll always get a chuckle of just find something to brighten your day here. Each an everyone of my students and their parents are so incredible. I know this will be a great experience for everyone. Let's have some fun with this!!
Hi Jed, Looks good. :-) Jane
